While most contacts on line are fairly
honest, it only takes a few people who are
not, to create serious dangers for every
one. The whole world is open to us on line.
Those few who are dishonest seem to find us
from all over. In most cases, the internet
is a wonderful place for connections. We
would not have this site if we did not feel
this way. However, it is only as safe as
your own actions in how you interact with
information and correspondences.
Simply put, we can not hold your hand to
make you safe, no matter how hard we try.
You alone are responsible for your own
actions and safety on & off line, so that
these "dishonest" or "dangerous" people do
not interact in your real world...
We go to great lengths to control many
issues against those who continuously have
unacceptable behaviors. Still, it is an
ongoing attempt. Therefore, you
must
also do your part
by implementing some form of realistic
safety measures, along with level headed
common sense decisions.
Post & respond responsibility for you alone
are responsible for the consequences of
those actions. ONLY when we work together as
a team, will it contribute additional safety
for everyone. You still must do your part in
these safety habits:
Avoid scams, fraud,
and unacceptable behaviors for your
own safety! This can be accomplished
90% of the time if you only deal
with people who are local. Be very
careful if someone is only wanting
you to use Western Union, Moneygram,
wire transfers, cashier checks,
money orders, escrows, or any type
of promises in transaction
protection, certifications, or
guarantees that can not be
guaranteed. Keep in mind >>
most people only deal locally with
classified ads. And most
transactions only deal in cash. By
dealing locally, there is no reason
to even deal with these kinds of
issues.
2
Avoid Dangerous Behaviors
Avoid communications
with those who you see have
unacceptable behaviors on line with
others. Site features will later
allow members to block other members
at your own discretion who you feel
are bothersome. By blocking a
member, they will not be able to
interact with you again from our
site. We will try to get this up for
you sometime in the near future.
Never give
out your personal
information such as social
security number, drivers
license, eBay, PayPal, other
credit card or bank account
number. The Cool Easy Post
nor its Monitors will NEVER
ask for your passwords. Do
not give it out to strangers
no matter who they say they
are or represent. Even
if they swear they work for
a company or if the email
return address looks like
that company's >> Companies
do not ask YOU for your
passwords. Should you get an
email from Paypal, Ebay,
CoolEasyPost, or an
institution you use, telling
you something is wrong with
your account, and asking you
to log in immediately, close
that email immediately
instead; clean your cookies.
Two Other Common Ways To
Avoid Sneaky Internet ID
Thief: A)
There are thieves who hide
worm Trojans in emails,
informing you of immediate
bad/good news. They try to
panic you enough with
information sent, that you
will immediately log into
your account from the link
provided in the email. Even
though it looks like the
correct site link, Do not
use that email link unless
you know you did something
to create that email
response from that
company. When you click
"their" log-in link, your
information is also
forwarded to them without
your knowledge from a cookie
stored on your computer when
you opened that email.
INSTEAD, if you close the
email, clean your cookie
first, then open a new
browser to link to the site
freshly; you are safer to
then log into that site
B)
BEWARE of those who want to
get to know you, only to
offer fake security in
helping you financially or
wanting to do something
special for you; suddenly
needing your personal access
information to do this.
>>>>>> WRONG!
Lets get real. If
someone really wants to do
such, tell them to just send
it to your PO or regular
mail address, "because your
NOT giving your info out".
They do not need your
password for Paypal.
Its one thing to give your
name and number if they call
un-blocked, or a power
bill account number to pay,
but under NO
circumstances does one need
any form of a bank or
password info! PERIOD!
Do NOT listen to the
comments of, "but I just
want to help you & need your
number, ect..." lame
excuses.... Hopefully, you
have a PO box for internet
use instead of giving out
your real address. These are
usually very disappointing
scams & ID Thief tricks,
especially played on women.
Stop and think... Don't do
it! Period! And
we do mean NEVER - EVER -
EVER, give your financial
info or passwords to anyone
online who ask for it.
Remember, its the 1%ers who
fool us the most because
they are so good at seeming
so honest. Don't trust
anyone with it from
online-offline situations.
I don't care if it's the
pope !
Because it won't be the
pope... It will be the
devil's helper, up to no
good; only trying to trick
you. So, "never" give it
out. And that good
solid advice you can bank
on!
Always use the " Cool
Easy Buddy System" when
meeting strangers "Off
Line".
These
simple "Buddy System" safety
measures should be
implemented in everyone's
routine.
Even if you feel someone is
99% safe. Remember,
it's always the 1%ers that
fool us unexpectedly, which
is why you do this.
Make revisions as needed for
the type of meet-up.
Use for dates, curb
alerts job interviews,
real estate calls, ect...
PART 1 >>>
Insist meeting in a
lighted public place
PART 2 >>>
Carry a fully charged
cell phone
PART 3 >>> Find a
friend you can trust and
become buddy exchangers.
Give your buddy the
meeting place, time, and
information you have on
the person
you are meeting with.
Call your buddy when you
are leaving, when you
arrive, and "AFTER" you
have left the property
of the person you are
meeting.
PART 4 >>> Assign a
code word between you &
your buddy. Never give
it out to anyone else.
This way each know your
calls are legitimate.
If you were having a
serious issue, your
buddy would have all the
information for tracing
you and will know to
call the police in your
behalf. Remember, its safer
to call the police on an
alert that is a
misunderstanding vs the
safety of your buddy.
PART 5 >>> When
you leave, make sure you
are not being followed.
PART 6 >>> Never
disregard your inner gut
feelings and never be
afraid to say no or
leave if you feel
uncomfortable in any
situation!
OTHER OPTIONS TO A "CALL
BUDDY"
A
>>> Consider having
a friend go with you.
Their job is to wait
outside in the car.
Your buddy should
never get out of the car
for "any" reasons,
especially if someone
else approaches them to
invite in. Keep car
locked.
B >>>
When no buddy is
available:
Make an extra copy of
the contact name, email,
phone number,
meeting/interview place,
and any other important
information. Date and timestamp the note. Leave copy on your
computer or someplace
clearly visible should
you not return. If you
do return,
it is really no big deal. Tare them up!

Target Flagging & Point Ratings
Develop a sense of humor before
flagging... Everyone needs a little
comic relief or could have had a bad
day. Do not flag people just because
it seems somewhat smarty or post a
different opinion unless you see
someone harassing another or posting
against terms... Do not get in the
habit of flagging someone because
you know who someone is online and
you do not like them or disagree.
Flagging directed at one person on a
constant basis can not lower your
point ratings but is also against
TOS (terms of use). At the same
time, do not be afraid to flag. No
points are taken off when members
flag appropriately of course.
Know that it takes
many flags from different IP's to
delete a post by community flagging.
We do this so that our system can
trace those flags first for behavior
and wrongfully fagged post will not
just be deleted easily by one
person. Our point system
measures a user's abusive behavior
habits and for those who spam-market
our site. When it reaches a
certain point, you might receive a
letter automatically to warn you
about your low rating or behavior,
and/or can be blocked from site for
a week to 6 months, or blocked
permanently.
